Liam Poessinouw
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Hello, I’m Liam and I love the smell of fresh-cut grass in the morning. Gardens are my happy place, thanks to my late Grandfather Dennis. Gardening was a way to connect and spend quality time with him.
I started Growing Greener Landscapes to continue what I am passionate about, to educate and create beautiful, sustainable gardens and green spaces. I want my clients to have a garden they will enjoy for many years to come. A garden that exceeds expectations and caters to the needs of my clients but also works with nature and the surrounding environment.
I have a strong environmentally sustainable belief system which drives my design philosophy. I’m passionate about Australian native plants and bush foods and working in with the Australian landscape and local species. However, I also take inspiration from my overseas travels and research to help shape my work and vision. My goal is to make our urban environment as green as possible, one garden at a time.
I enjoy a hands-on gardening and landscaping role, and I am confident in delivering landscaping elements, including structure paving, vertical gardens, decking, pergolas, retaining walls, furniture fabrication, concreting, irrigation, and planting.
My background – I am a trained landscaper, construction lead, green roofer, and gardener. I’m originally from the UK where I worked as a green roofer, working on some of the UK’s biggest green roofing projects (The Shard, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, Lord’s Cricket Ground London). I relocated to Melbourne in 2018 and joined Coolth Inc. as a landscape construction lead for residential and commercial projects (Nightingale 2.0) and had success working with the team to complete their on-structure Landscapes to a very high standard.
